CRESTED BUTTE
Adult and Teen Break Dance | Hip Hop Class
Fun movement class for all levels of dancers! Learn some basics of hip hop, breakin, and more with an incredible exchange opportunity featuring guest artists from the Bboy Factory in Denver. Coach Ian and Coach Cuba can’t wait to get you moving in the mountains! Class at Jones Studio, Center for the Arts (606 6th St, Crested Butte). Wear comfortable clothes that allow for a full range of movement. Tuesday July 22nd at 8pm.
Break Dance Camp: July 23rd-25th
Join Coach Ian and Coach Cuba from the Bboy Factory in Denver for youth ages 7-13 to experience the culture and joy of breakin. Artists will teach Bboys and Bgirls the foundations of break dance, the history and culture and the 4 elements of hip hop including graffiti art. Students will have dance, art, and cultural education everyday and will make their own graffiti canvas. Located in Jerry’s Gym from 8-3. Register here

Youth Cultural Arts Camp: July 28th- August 1st
Give your kids a fun and fulfilling week with immersion in an engaging and dynamic morning cultural arts camp! This camp will be targeted to ages 7-12 and will explore drum, dance, storytelling and more. Each day will include a variety of themes and music and movement classes taught by Angela Carroll and Fara Tolno, as well as arts, crafts, and games. Drums and any other instruments will be provided for use. Attending youth will have the opportunity to perform at Arts Fair on Saturday August 2nd. Register here

On-going MUSICIANS Class : July 29th- August 1st
Register now to study with world renown artist and musical choreographer Fara Tolno. This is an outstanding musical opportunity!! Fara has played with artists such as BB King, Neil Young, Burning Spear, Mamady Keita, Otis Taylor, Joe Cocker, Youssou N’Dour, Salif Keita, and more. Fara will teach a 4 class course, placing a traditional African rhythm onto a variety of instruments to build a cohesive musical piece. All musicians proficient on a string, percussion, horn or other instrument that does not require major setup/breakdown is welcome! Classes will culminate with the option to perform at Arts Fair on Saturday August 2nd. Spots are limited! Register here

Fara will teach a 4 class course, providing an in-depth study of Guinea dance, building upon the dance study and placing a choreography piece. Monday August 4th at the Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork (16543 Highway 82
Carbondale, CO 81623). Drum class from 5:30-6:45 followed by dance class from 7-8:15. All abilities welcome and limited instruments will be available to borrow. Dance class will be accompanied by live drummers, wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. $25 per class or both classes for $40. Cash, check or Venmo at the door. MONTROSE
YOUTH CAMP AT METAPHORSE GROWTH AND HEALING CENTER. August 6th. Arts and Nature for youth ages 7 and up. Will include drum, dance, song, horses, nature walks and more! Registration and info coming soon!
SALIDA
Drum and Dance Classes happening on August 7th at Alpine Park. Come enjoy classes in a beautiful outdoor setting with fun, friendly instruction. Rain location will be Sventastik Studio in Salida. Drum class from 2-3:15 and Dun Dun Dance class 3:30-4:45. Limited instruments will be available to borrow and all are welcome! $25 per class or both classes for $40. Cash, check or Venmo at the time of class. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. Fara will be a guest artists featured at free concert in Riverside Park with Santa Rios at 6:30pm. LOVELAND
A three day drum intensive and dance workshop with Fara Tolno on August 8th-10th. Friday night drum and dance classes, Saturday will feature two 2-hour drum studies and two 2-hour dance intensives with an evening meal and dialogue covering the history, culture and background of Guinea rhythms with a Q&A with Fara. Sunday will culminate in a dual 2-hour class for dancers and drummers, giving drummers an opportunity to learn further techniques for playing for dance classes. Register here
